Would you ever describe yourself as stressed out? Most of us would at some point. You can think of stress as an overfilled plate at a family gathering. You know how that goes; you start in the buffet line and you add a little more, and a little more, and by the time you get to the end, your plate is huge. You can never eat it all, and you know that but you keep piling it on anyway. Is your life like that? Have you added just one more thing to your the To Do list and now you are in overload?
So what’s the cure? How do we take “to do” items off our plate? The cure is spending time alone with God discussing our “plate” and asking Him what we should remove. Be still and sit with God and tell Him about your week. Go over your calendar with Him. Trust Him to add and delete as is necessary. Don’t let your life become so tangled in things that you miss the relationships – with others and with God.
This weekend, spend time being still with God and others. This quiet time is one way to exalt Him in your life.
