Have you ever thought about living intentionally? The dictionary defines intentional as “done on purpose, not by accident. ” Living intentionally is not just going through the motions but being present in each activity of the day. If you are like me you already have your “to do” list waiting for you in the morning when you get to work and you’ve got your next grocery list started plus a couple of other lists lying around. While lists are fine, and even necessary, they can serve as a distraction from God. Do you worship God in the midst of the day or do you get so focused on accomplishing the list that you forget God in the middle of all your busyness?
Time passes very quickly and our lives can be consumed by activities. How often do we let life get the best out of us? Before we know it, we are a couple of years older and have missed opportunities to make a difference. What can you do today that will last beyond your lifetime?
Take Philippians 4:8 and turn it into a “to do” list of ways to worship God this week. Contemplate what you think about. Is it true, noble and reputable? Are you meditating on the best in people or the worst? Do your lips bring forth praise or cursing? I challenge you to live intentionally for God this week in all that you say and do.
