Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

I love to watch chickens. They crack me up. (Egg pun intended!) Our lives can often resemble chickens flapping around in circles looking for something but never knowing exactly what we are seeking. With chickens you have to coax them into the chicken coop by sprinkling grain on the path. In our lives God uses bits of encouragement to coax us along the path to the place he wants us to be. God puts people in our lives to help us along the way. We should thank God for those who encourage and sharpen us.
Today, don’t be a chicken running around in circles at the first sign of trouble. Instead look up and look for God’s grains of encouragement along your path.
Today, pray that God would encourage you by:
Showing you your spiritual gifts (Ephesians 4:11)
Showing you where to use those gifts (Ephesians 4:12)
Growing you up in Christ so that you would become mature and attain the fullness of Jesus (Ephesians 4:13)
Steadying you so that you would not be tossed back and forth by every whim of man (Ephesians 4:14)
Helping you to speak in love and grow up in Christ (Ephesians 4:15)
